Loaded Cajun Fries
Crispy fries loaded with melty cheddar, crispy bacon, creamy ranch, and a generous shake of Bertrand’s Cajun Dust. Perfect for game day, cookouts, or late-night cravings.
Ingredients
- 1 bag of your favorite frozen fries (we used Jesse & Ben’s) or fresh hand-cut potatoes
- 2–3 tbsp Bertrand’s Cajun Dust
- 1–2 tbsp avocado oil, olive oil, beef tallow, or your preferred cooking oil (we personally fry in beef tallow because we don’t use seed oils)
- 6–8 slices turkey bacon (or your favorite bacon)
- 1½–2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- Homemade ranch or your favorite ranch dressing
- Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Directions
1. Prepare the Fries
You have a few options:
- Hand-cut fries: Slice potatoes into fries and either bake them or fry them in beef tallow (our favorite because we don’t use seed oils) or your preferred cooking oil.
- Frozen fries: Use your favorite frozen fries for a quicker meal. We used Jesse & Ben’s.
Pro Tip: If baking fresh or frozen fries, toss them with Bertrand’s Cajun Dust and your preferred oil before placing them in the oven. This helps the seasoning stick and creates incredible flavor in every bite.
Cook according to your preferred method until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
2. Make the Bacon
Dice the bacon into small pieces and cook until crispy.
We used turkey bacon, but any bacon works great.
3. Grate the Cheese
Freshly grate sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese). Freshly grated cheese melts much better than pre-shredded.
4. Assemble
While the fries are still hot:
- Layer on the grated cheese so it begins to melt.
- Sprinkle generously with the crispy bacon bits.
- Finish with a drizzle of homemade ranch or your favorite ranch dressing.
- Add another light sprinkle of Bertrand’s Cajun Dust over the top for an extra Cajun kick.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
